I FLOW LIKE WATER
"I FLOW LIKE WATER"
Filmed in her studio and at Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond in Lincoln Park, Arica Hilton captures nature onto canvas. The Lily Pool, designed in the late 1930s by landscape architect Alfred Caldwell as a refuge from the city, was the backdrop for the film. With his signature prairie style, acquired through mentorships with Jens Jensen and Frank Lloyd Wright, Caldwell redeveloped an old Victorian pond to a one and a half acre nature sanctuary. Today, the Lily Pool is one of the best examples of restored prairie-style landscape architecture. Hilton demonstrates her painting style by creating a painting of the lily pond on a plexiglass canvas which was mounted in a light box with LED lights.
